One of the tales of Jim Eckert, the young mathematician who travels to a parallel medieval world only to be transformed into a large but none too bright dragon named Gorbash. Now the Dragon Knight must confront the three disasters that lie in wait for any visitor to the English Middle ages war, plague and Plantagenets
The Dragon Knight, faces three new challenges - a plague caused by an invasion of shape-changing goblins, the arrival of the quarrelsome and ambitious Plantagenet dynasty, and a full-scale human-versus-goblin war.
The Dragon and the Fair Maid of Kent The Dragon Cycle Book 9 eBook Gordon R Dickson
This is one of the most entertaining AU series ever written, especially for those fans of Medieval flourishes. The tragedy is that this is the last; Gordon Dickson died before finishing the tenth Dragon Knight book. It's clear that interesting future story lines were opening up for Jim and Angie, but sadly, we will now never see their story finished."Fair Maid of Kent" mixes quite a bit of royal history into its plot, with Dickson's usual skill at making it clear to the reader where his AU is deviating from "real history"; e.g., our own written past. Fare thee well, Jim, Angie, Secoh, Aargh, Carolinus, Brian, Dafydd, Geronde and Danielle. Sigh.

The Dragon and the Fair Maid of Kent The Dragon Cycle Book 9 eBook Gordon R Dickson Reviews
He was a wonderful writer. Robert
I really loved the Dragon Knight series. It's a shame this is the last we'll see since Mr. Dickson has passed on. Off into his own journey somewhere now. I guess wherever the series was headed, will be in our own minds.
I have read mean books by Gordon Dickson and he is one of my favorite authors. The Dragon series s very good as well. This book replaces a copy I wore out.
Good storyline save one thing. Main hero spent too much time second guessing himself, which was not the norm for this character in past books.
Excellent addition to the Dragon series by Dickson. There were totally believable twists that made it even better.
Dickson has developed a series of books that allows the reader of today to say what if...? This unique viewpoint allows for the writer to put a 21st century spin on a classic fantasy novel. Characters are real in a fatastic world.
This time Jim has organized his motly crew to fight the plague which is born by shape changing goblins. He must do this while working around the politics of the middle ages with the King and Crown Prince in his company.
This one has the least adventure and the most politics, but still an enjoyable read.
Too much left undone if this is the final book. Too much time spent with the main character in self denial. This book just missed the mark as a finish to what was a really good series.
